Every year flocks of pigeons and other pest birds damage billions of dollars worth of property. Their noise, mess, and health hazards are a menace to certain parts of our environment. Urban pest birds promote the transmission of several serious diseases, infections and illnesses. Buildings infested with birds pose serious health risks to their occupants and customers.

There are three so called “nuisance” bird species in the Kansas City area that are notorious for roosting and nesting in and around man made structures. These species include: Pigeons, European Starlings and Sparrows. These bird species can become quite a “nuisance” if not controlled.

Excessive fecal deposits on surfaces can contribute to increased health risks to people exposed to them. This may be an accumulation of pigeon excrement at a building entrance that is continually tracked into the building on a person’s shoes. Pigeons or Seagulls nesting in or near rooftop HVAC units or Cooling Towers may contribute to poor or dangerous air quality inside a building, not to mention most service people will not work on unsanitary equipment. Bird excrement is highly corrosive and can damage building exteriors, equipment, and automobiles creating higher maintenance costs.
