Integrated Pest Management

Ragan provides pest control solutions based on the concepts of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) The experts at Ragan not only remove the pests in the safest manner possible but also identify the reasons that caused the pest to appear in the beginning. A program is then created for each customer addressing these issues which in turn creates a safer and more permanent solution to the pest problem.

Some of the factors that each Ragan IPM program must consider are pest biology and behavior, pest food requirements, pest harborage needs, the structural integrity of the premises, sanitation issues both inside and outside the premises, communication requirements, customer and regulatory tolerance levels etc. Each IPM program is tailored to the pest pressures, the characteristics of the structure and the specific needs of each customer.

The IPM programs are tiered into three levels; I, II, III. Each level is based on the customers’ sensitivity to pesticide use in each area or account. This personalized approach produces improved results and greater customer satisfaction.
An integral part of the IPM service for every customer is the Ragan Accutrak monitoring system. With Accutrak in place any pest activity is caught in the earliest stages when it is easiest to remove. Accutrak also provides historical records that allow Smithereen to anticipate seasonal pest pressures and prepare for them in advance. This proactive monitoring system helps provide the core data for the functioning of the IPM program in the premises.

Ragan has developed service protocols which are based around three core IPM concepts.

INSPECTION - Thorough inspection by fully trained staff to identify the problem, aided of course by the information provided from the Accutrak system.
